Symonds Yat – Herefordshire

Picturesque!

Symonds Yat is a great day out for all ages! There’s a walk for every one, whether you’re looking for a woody shaded walk or a stroll along the river and if your feeling more adventurous you can hire a canoe and float down, just watch out for the rapids!

IMG_1271We parked by the Saracens Head Inn, and got the hand pull ferry to the other side, I would definitely recommend this, even just for the novelty factor. I had to hold on tight to Millie though, she wanted to get in and have a swim with the ducks.

We decided to stroll along the river so Millie could have a paddle along the way. There’s always lots of things going on at Symonds Yat, but you can always find a quiet spot if you’re looking for a place to gather your thoughts. We took a pack lunch with us and found a lovely spot along the river to recharge.IMG_1323

Further down by Biblins suspension bridge we found a lovely little tea room, Biblins Tea Garden, attached to the owners house with a lovely garden and a beautiful view, and it also serves all my favourite Teapigs teas, which was a nice treat after an enjoyable walk along the river.

We decided to cross back over on the suspension bridge and walk along the other side of the riverbank back to the car.

We thoroughly enjoyed this walk, lots to do and see for everyone, great for kids and dogs.
