Westonbirt Arboretum – Tetbury
Such a beautiful tranquil place!
Westonbirt Arboretum is a great place to visit, its located in Tetbury which is a beautiful area of the Cotswolds in the UK. Whether your interested in trees or not, this is a lovely place to go, especially in autumn when all the colours are changing and the trees are about to drop their leaves, we got to see all the beautiful autumn colours, greens, reds and oranges, this is a perfect time of year to visit.
This was the first time we’ve been here and since finding out that dogs were welcome and could run free off their leads (obviously as long as you still have control of them) we have wanted to go. Dogs are allowed on 2 of the 3 sections of the Westonbirt Arboretum, so plenty of area for them, and while we were there, a tree top walk was being constructed which dogs are also allowed on (on leads), so i’m excited for this on our next visit.
We spent 7 hours walking round listening to the wind in the trees and playing ball with the dogs, it was a great day for all of us and Millie and Pacha were shattered afterwards, which is what you always hope for from a fantastic day out.
There are great facilities at Westonbirt, the food was really enjoyable and freshly made at the main restaurant, which has a lovely outdoor area with an open air barbecue for the summer and also a lovely indoor area for chilly days. Unfortunately as we got carried away with walking round, we missed the gift shop, which was closed when we were ready to have a look, hopefully next time we’ll catch it.
We’ll definitely visit again, we’ve already started to plan our next trip at christmas, where they hold an enchanted christmas event and illuminate the trees, i’m even more excited for christmas time now!
